Charles Kaliman has the apparel industry insight to optimize global sourcing–from merchandising to production.

Bringing a wealth of experience to every project, Charles Kaliman formed Kaliman Consulting to provide big enterprise expertise to small and midsize emerging brands.

After decades in leadership for Fortune 500 companies, he found he was energized by the nimble, visionary nature of smaller apparel companies who were setting out to redefine and dominate their categories. By providing outsourced expertise, Charles provides the on-demand knowledge companies can leverage without adding or training permanent staff.

With a national reputation in merchandising, sourcing, P&L accountability and operational responsibility, Charles specializes in global sourcing, vendor management and merchandising–from development to production. Extensive factory visits have enabled him to form relationships with leading global vendors to complement his expertise in outsourcing, nearshoring, production planning, product development and product lifecycle management.

From Asia to Central America, he has collaborated to launch national brands like INC, Structure,Gant, Henry Cotton’s and Everlast. Charles led sourcing and product development for Henry Cotton’s, PVH, JCrew, Macy’s and Federated Merchandising. Prior to founding Kaliman Consulting, Charles was the Sourcing Director for Sears Holdings where he directed pre-production and global sourcing for numerous apparel brands.

Charles has a BA in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh and received his MBA from the Columbia Business School. He can usually be found jetting from NY to Chicago to L.A. to Hong Kong to Guatemala.
